Looking for a nice jazz box for not a lot of dough? Like other Electra guitars of the era, this 70s Howard Roberts shows great attention to detail, excellent quality and killer performance. Made in the Matsumoku factory as were many of the best Ibanez guitars of this period.  As nice or nicer than many higher priced Ibanez "lawsuit" copies I've seen! Great quality and specs throughout. The hollow body is made of gorgeous flame maple (probably laminated) and features the trademark oval soundhole. The mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with cool pearl triangle inlays. A floating mini Jonny Smith style humbucker dishes out smoky jazz tone. Unique volume/bass/ treble controls allow you to dial in your tone. Sealed tuners and a floating bridge keep it rock solid. The tailpiece has been upgraded to an Epiphone Frequensator style for an authentic look. The finish is a gorgeous sunburst that really shows off the woodgrain. Pickguard MIA. A great jazz, blues or rockabilly guitar that's just dripping with style and tone!

This Electra plays and sounds nice. Set up with medium jazz action, this guitar delivers big tone. Nice round tone that will have you comping like a madman. Condition wise, it's a solid used guitar for its age. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some dents and dings. Some corrosion on the hardware. The pots have a little minor scratchiness but nothing major. An overall solid guitar that should provide lots of enjoyment to its new owner. Comes in a big hardshell case.

This guitar is one of the best bang for the buck deals out there. Nice quality, tone and performance. No one makes a Howard Roberts style jazzer anymore and even if they did, expect to pay BIG bucks. This one has a nice vibe and is priced right.
