Gretsch fans have long been clamoring for an affordable alternative to the pricey Professional series. The Electromatic series has been the answer to the budget minded player’s prayers. Cool Gretsch looks, nice quality and good features for a low price. This Electromatic Pro Jet is no exception. Based on the famous Dup Jet, this one is ready to rock. The chambered mahogany body and laminated maple top make for an excellent combination. The set mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with thumbprint fingerboard inlays. Dual mini humbuckers deliver cool tones. A licensed Bigsby vibrato, Adjustomatic bridge and Kluson style tuners complete the picture. Cool features include Gretsch screw on strap buttons and G Arrow knobs. The black finish looks as cool a George Harrison’s Cavern Club Duo Jet. A really great guitar for the bucks.

It’s amazing how much guitar you can get for the money these days. This Pro Jet plays well and has a straight neck. The pickups work and sound great. This one is for a player, not a collector type. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches, heavy belt wear as well as some dents and dings. Pretty much player grade. Comes in a gigbag.

Gretsch has come a long way in the past few years introducing both vintage correct models as well as guitars that appeal to a whole new group of fans. The Pro Jet is one of the best values out there. A new one will set you back $599 in stores. I can save you a bit on a used one.
