Guild’s Dearmond line has been popular among retro minded players. Discontinued for awhile now, they have steadily held their value or increased in price in recent years. How can you argue with the vibe? Based on the famous Aristocrat/Bluesbird outline, the M-68 offers a great alternative to a Gibson Les Paul or Gretsch Duo Jet. The single cutaway body is agathis (similar to mahogany) and features nice body binding. The 24.75 inch scale nato neck features a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Dual USA MADE Dearmond 2K Single Coils deliver classic tone from warm and sweet to nasty and growling. An Adjustomatic bridge, Harp tailpiece and sealed tuners round out the hardware. This example is finished in a cool metallic black with subtle metal flake in the paint. Really distinctive. A very hip guitar that has become hard to find in recent years!

I’ve had several Dearmonds come through. I really love the vibe, value and tone. This example is no exception. Good playability and feel for the bucks. The pickups have good tone and all electronics work fine. Great bang for the buck. This is a nice used example. It shows light pick and clearcoat wear and some light indents. In great shape. Comes in a gigbag.

Guild no longer offers the Dearmond line and prices have continued to increase on the used market. Many players have been converted to the great tone, looks and bang for the buck of these great guitars. If you’re considering a Gretsch Pro Jet, Epiphone Les Paul or similar guitar, you owe it to yourself to check out the Dearmond M-75. The USA made pickups blow away the competition.
