Here's a cool guitar! Grass Roots guitars are made by ESP as a low cost line that is sold only in Japan. They are priced above the LTD series and are generally regarded as having excellent quality for the bucks. Many were made in Japan with others coming from Korea. I'm not sure where this G-TE-40R model was made but it's definitely nice for the money. Made to replicate Leo's classic original guitar, this Grass Roots has some nice features. The body is basswood for good tone. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets. The headstock has the correct shape. Dual single coils dish out big tone. An upgraded Electrosocket jack offers reliable performance. A string through bridge and vintage style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a classic butterscotch blonde and is set off by a white pickguard. A great looking recreation of a 60s classic.

This guitar plays and sounds great. the neck is straight, the action is good and the frets are fine. the pickups deliver a variety of cool tones. Everything works as it should. A very nice sounding and playing guitar for the money. This is a nice used instrument. Well taken care of, it shows light pick and clearcoat scratches as well as light to moderate indents and dings. A good looking example. Comes in a Fender gigbag.

This is a fine guitar for the money. It sports a cool vibe and nice overall quality. Rare in the USA, it was made only for the Japanese market. Here's your chance to grab it.
