Super 70s vibe! The Ampeg Big Stud was an interesting point in the amp manufacturer's history. Made in Japan (some say by Tokai), these basses offer a wild combo of several different basses. The body shape is familiar to anyone familiar with the competition but is accented with some period appointments. The maple neck features a bound maple fingerboard with pearloid fingerboard inlays. Dual single coils dish out big tone. The finish is natural and is set off with a pearloid pickguard and retro covers on the bridge and pickup. A wild bass with a cool look.

This is a very cool bass with a distinctive sound. The neck is straight and the action is fine. The pickups have a cool old school growl and thump. They are wired out of phase in the middle position. All in all, a cool bass. Condition wise, this bass shows normal wear you would expect for an instrument this age. Playwear, dents, chips, dings, and scratches as well as some hardware corrosion and other signs of moderate regular use. There's one ding/chip on the binding at the headstock edge. All in all, a cool vibe. Comes in a rough chipboard case.

This is an awesome bass for a player looking for a stylish instrument with distinctive tone. You would be hard pressed to find something else from this era with so much vibe at such a low price.
