Peavey is famous for offering great value to musicians. Great bang for the buck and tons of innovation. Peavey's Mantis was a great attempt at offering a pointy "heavy metal" as was popular at the time. By utilizing computers and advanced build techniques, Peavey was able to sell an instrument with quality exceeding many of the bigger brands at an even lower price while still being USA made. The body is ash for bright tone. The maple neck features a maple fingerboard with 22 frets. The P-12 Peavey humbucker delivers big tone. A Kahler trem and sealed tuners round out the hardware. The finish is a classy white and is set off by chrome hardware and black plastic. A cool guitar for the bucks!

This Peavey plays OK and has unique tone. The pickups sound good. A cool and very well made guitar for the money. This guitar shows moderate pick, clearcoat, and belt scratches, some indents and dings, and some corrosion on the hardware. Some finish spots on the back visible in the pics. The trem arm is a newer replacement. Average condition for its age. Trem is very stiff. May need adjustment or other service. Comes in an aftermarket gigbag.

If you want a unique guitar with unique tone, this Peavey may be for you. A good guitar for the bucks that exceeds expectations. Made in the USA.
