Heritage Guitars has found many fans thanks to traditional craftsmanship and great value. Started by Ex-Gibson employees, Heritage Guitars are built in Kalamzoo, MI in the same factory and by many of the same hands that built Bursts, dot neck 335’s, Korina V’s and reverse Firebirds. They even utilize some of Gibson’s original tooling and equipment! The H-555 is the Heritage version of the venerable ES-355. The body is laminated flame maple with a maple centerblock for increased sustain and feedback resistance. The wood is nicely flamed and makes for a gorgeous guitar. The 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with gorgeous pearl and abalone inlays. Dual Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups dish out killer warm tone and PAF like growl. A Stopbar tailpiece, locking Tuneomatic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners keep it rock solid. The guitar is finished in a gorgeous rootbeer amber lacquer. Very, very nice. A great guitar and an excellent alternative to a more expensive Gibson.

This Heritage plays and sounds great. I believe Heritage began using a Plek machine to set up the guitars around this time. Click here to learn about the Plek. It really makes a difference as the guitar feels and plays great. The electronics sound excellent and everything works as it should. This is a nice used guitar in EX- condition. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches, light to moderate scratches on the pickguard, moderate belt scratches, light to moderate indents and dings, and some fading of the gold hardware. Still a good looking example. Comes in original hardshell case with some paperwork.

Many players will tell you they prefer a Heritage over a Gibson for their build quality and attention to detail. Add in the fact that the Heritage guitars are generally more affordable and you have a real winner. A new ES-355 will cost you big bucks in stores. You can have this Heritage for much less and know it was handmade in the same Kalamazoo plant as the original guitars. A great made in the USA instrument.
