Valley Arts was a company that was a precursor to the current boutique trend exhibited in builders like Suhr, Grosh, Tyler, etc. Samick was at one time, the world’s largest producer of guitars. They got together and offered a line of Valley Arts designed, Samick built guitars that offered great specs at a good price. This Ray Benson signature model is no exception. Built for the Asleep at the Wheel frontman, it incorporates his specs. The body is alder for good tone and features a gorgeous flame top. The maple neck features a maple fingerboard with 22 frets. The Duncan designed pickups are in a Nashville arrangement. A string through bridge teams up with sealed tuners for stable performance. The finish is a rich amber natural and is set off by chrome hardware and pearloid plastic. A great performing guitar and an incredible value!

This Valley Arts plays and sounds great. The neck is straight, the action is low and the frets are fine. The pickups deliver a ton of tones. Everything works as it should. This guitar shows some normal wear and is in VG-EX condition. Light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches, moderate belt wear, and light to moderate indents and dings. Comes in a gigbag.

This is a great guitar for the player. Excellent performance and a great price. You probably won't see a better value than one of these.
