Combining the best aspects of two classic designs, the Shelton Electric Instruments FireDome is an amazing vintage hybrid. The authentic Offset body shape lends itself well to the traditional pickup and hardware arrangement. Truly a distinctive design, the FireDome is meant for players that want to make a visual as well as sonic statement.
This example is made for a player. It has a fat, beefy neck with nicely polished medium frets and a 9.5 inch radius. A Porter 9T at the bridge and an S90 at the neck give you that raunchy P90 tone. We hook the pickups to an Emerson Custom 5 way harness for a variety of tones. The body is swamp ash for nice snap and sustain. A Kluson string through bridge with compensated saddles, Gotoh staggered vintage tuners, and a Tusq XL nut mean dependable performance. The finish is a gorgeous Three Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer and is set off by a vintage Tortoiseshell plastic pickguard. This FireDome has been Artifact Aged to resemble a well loved instrument that has played its share of late night shows. It comes in a Deluxe G&G hardshell case.
The FireDome gives you that great Offset look along with a lean and mean setup that’s sure to feel familiar. This is a great instrument that has become an unexpected shop favorite.
