The Les Paul Custom has long been the king of Lesters. I’ve always been a sucker for fancy inlays and binding and the Custom has these in spades. Nothing sounds like a Custom either thanks to a proven recipe of materials. The body is made of mahogany and the top is carved maple for big time sustain and bite. The mahogany neck features a bound ebony fingerboard with fancy pearl block inlays. The headstock face features multiple binding and the trademark Gibson split diamond inlay and logo. Dual Shaw Era ink stamped Gibson humbuckers deliver big tone. A Tuneomatic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece, and Flip Out Gibson/Schaller tuners offer unsurpassed performance. Finished in cherry sunburst lacquer, this example has a cool vibe. An awesome Les Paul Custom!
This Les Paul has the feel and tone Customs are known for. The neck is straight and the frets are good. Nice feel. This is a solid used guitar in VG+ condition. Normal wear overall. There’s some finish checking. There’s a finish check running between the lower volume knobs visible in the pics. Otherwise, the finish shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches, moderate belt wear, and some indents and dings. The gold hardware shows some fade. The pickup rings are newer but the original cracked ones are included. Comes in a protector case.
The Les Paul Custom has long been a dream guitar for many players. Top notch looks, quality and tone. A new one will cost you $3999 at the superstores. Wouldn’t you rather have a vintage one for less?
