Recalling the Les Paul Goldtop as well as an ES-295, thi all gold ES-335 is about as super pimp as you can get. Outrageous looks with all of the specs that make a great ES-335. The body is laminated maple with a maple sustain block. The mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. The pickups are 57 Classic reissues. Rotomatic tuners, a Stopbar tailpiece and Tuneomatic bridge round out the hardware. The finish is gold metallic lacquer and is set off by nickel hardware and cream plastic. Not for the timid of heart!
This is a nice 335. It plays great and has nice tone. Typical slim to medium neck carve with good action. The pickups sound great with nice warmth and articulation. Everything works as it should. Condition wise, this is a nice used guitar in EX condition. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches and light indents. The finish shows some normal “flaws” as most vintage style goldtops. I only mention them as a picky cork sniffer may turn up their nose at them but that’s just how the Goldtop finish is. There’s also some finish checking happening under the bridge and near the neck binding. Pretty normal stuff on a goldtop lacquer finish. Comes in original hardshell case.
