Vintage good looks at an unbelievable price! Gretsch's Electromatic series offers players big time style. The G5129 recalls classic like the original 50s 6120s used by Chet Atkins and Brian Setzer. All of the classic Gretsch specs are here. The hollow body is made of laminated maple for good tone. The 24.56 maple neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with thumbprint inlays. Dual USA Dearmond 2K  single coil pickups dish out big tone. A Bigsby vibrato, compensated aluminum bridge and vintage style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a very cool Oriental Red with black back and sides just like a vintage Jet Firebird. A black Chet Atkins guard has been added for a cool early 60s Tennessean vibe. It also sports a vinyl decal horseshoe logo on the headstock. A heckuva lotta guitar for the loot!

This Gretsch plays well and has nice tone for the price. The neck is straight. The action is nice and the frets are good. The pickups deliver nice tone. Everything works as it should. Condition wise, this is a solid used guitar in VG-EX condition. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches and light indents and dings. Comes in a hardshell case.

You don't have to pay a lot to get a cool guitar! The Gretsch 5129 offers players the looks of the much more expensive Professional series without the price tag. No longer available new, this model is a favorite among many players thanks to its great sounding Dearmond pickups.
