A really nice Les Paul from one of the best loved eras of the Custom Shop. The 1959 Les Paul is considered by many to be the pinnacle of tone and craftsmanship. The early Historic reissues are a great recreation of the classic ‘burst. The non weight relived body is one piece mahogany for incredible sustain. The book matched flame maple top features some nice figuring. The one piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with correct shape trapezoid fingerboard inlays. A lot of folks think this ear had the best woods. Stock 57 Classic pickups killer PAF tone. Long neck tenon. Stopbar Tailpiece, ABR-1 Tuneomatic bridge and tulip button Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. The thin nitro lacquer Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish looks incredible. This is as close as it gets for mere mortals. Incredible tone and feel not to mention amazing quality.

The Custom Shop turns out some incredible guitars and this R9 is no exception. The 1959 profile neck is nice and beefy and the jumbo frets make bending a breeze. 8.6 lbs according to my scale. The tone is superlative as well. The 57 Classic pickups are still well loved by many tone savvy players. Condition wise, this is a solid used Les Paul in EX- condition. It shows normal playwear and use including light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches as well as moderate indents and dings. There’s a few belt buckle marks on the back. Nothing major and nothing that would easily photograph. Cool vibe. No certificate but most in 2000 didn’t have them. Comes in original case.

This is a great Les Paul from one of the best eras of the Custom Shop. No other guitar has this tone and feel. An incredible instrument that many folks dream of owning their entire lifetime. Stop dreaming! A new one will cost you big bucks. In fact the price probably just went up while you were reading this. This one has big time vibe and is ready to rock.
