The ES-335 is a legendary design. The warmth of a hollowbody with the sustain of a solid body. Here’s a cool example that’s nearly 40 years old. Awesome vibe. The body is laminated maple with a maple sustain block. The 3 piece neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Original Gibson Humbuckers are hooked to a factory coil tap for a variety of tones. A Stopbar tailpiece has been added for tuning stability and sustain. Gibson Deluxe tuners and Tuneomatic bridge round out the hardware. The saddles have been ungraded to Graphite. Originals are in the case pocket. The finish is a gorgeous sunburst lacquer and set off with chrome hardware. What a great guitar!
This ES-335 would make a great addition to most any gear arsenal. Plays great. Slim to medium neck carve with a narrow (presumably 1 9/16ths) nut. Recent pro refret. The guitar plays very, very well. Some divots in the board but feels fine. The pickups sound great with nice warmth and articulation. Everything works as it should. This is a solid used guitar that has seen normal use and is in VG condition. The hardware shows some oxidation. The finish shows moderate pick, clearcoat, and belt scratches as well as moderate indents, chips and dings. Normal wear for its age. The Stopbar talpice has been added and the original trapeze tailpiece plate is still attached to the rim. Saddles and knobs have been replaced. The guitar looks good for its age overall and has an authentic patina. Comes in presumably original case with replaced handle.
ES-335’s are well loved for versatile tones and killer looks. No guitar arsenal is complete without one! A new one will set you back a whopping $3299. Why not grab a vintageone and save some big time cash?
